The Sky is Falling
Moral of the Story: Don’t jump to conclusions without checking the facts.
Once upon a time, in a big, green jungle, there lived a timid little rabbit. One day, a strong wind started blowing, making whistling sounds through the trees. The rabbit, who was easily scared, heard the noise and thought, “Oh no! That noise is so scary! I need to hide!”
So, the rabbit quickly hid himself in a barrel under a big mango tree. Suddenly, he heard a loud thud! The frightened rabbit jumped out of his hiding place and started running as fast as he could, shouting, “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!”
As he ran, he met a jackal. The jackal asked, “Why are you running so fast, little rabbit?”
The rabbit replied, “Didn’t you hear that scary noise? The sky is falling!” And he continued running.
The jackal got scared too and started running with the rabbit. Along the way, they met other animals like a giraffe, an elephant, a deer, and a horse. When they heard the rabbit’s story, they all started running too.
Soon, the jungle was filled with animals running and shouting, “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!”
Hearing all the commotion, the wise Lion King came out of his den and roared, “Stop! Why are you all running? What happened?”
All the animals replied in chorus, “The sky is falling!”
The Lion King was surprised and asked, “Who told you this?”
The rabbit came forward and said, “I heard a scary noise and thought the sky was falling.”
The clever Lion King wasn’t ready to believe such a story without proof. He asked the rabbit to take him to the place where the sky had fallen.
The rabbit led the Lion King and all the other animals to the mango tree. When they got there, they saw a big mango lying on the ground.
The Lion King smiled and said, “Look, the sky isn’t falling. It was just a mango that fell from the tree.”
All the animals felt ashamed for believing the rabbit’s words without checking the facts. They learned an important lesson that day: Don’t jump to conclusions without investigating the matter fully.
And from that day on, the animals in the jungle always made sure to check the facts before believing any scary stories.
