The Lioness and the Young Jackal

The Lioness and the Young Jackal

Moral of the Story: Know who you are and be true to yourself.

Once upon a time, in a big jungle, there lived a lion and a lioness. They were very happy because they had two baby lion cubs. The lion went out every day to find food for his family. He would come back in the evening with something to eat.

One day, the lion couldn’t find any food. He walked and walked but found nothing. As the sun was setting, he saw a baby jackal. The lion felt sorry for the little jackal because it was just a baby. Instead of eating him, the lion took the baby jackal home.

When the lioness saw the baby jackal, she said, “Oh dear, he is just a baby. How can we eat him? Let’s take care of him like our own cubs. They can all play together and be friends.”

So, the lion and the lioness raised the baby jackal with their cubs. They loved him and treated him just like their own children.

As the cubs and the jackal grew up, they started to act differently. The jackal was different because he was not a lion. Sometimes, they would fight, but the lion and the lioness didn’t mind.

One day, while they were playing, a big elephant came near them. The young jackal got scared and wanted to run away. But the young lions wanted to fight the elephant. The jackal said, “He is very dangerous. Let’s go home.”

The young lions followed the jackal back home, but they laughed at him for being scared. They told their parents about it and made fun of the jackal. This made the jackal very angry.

The jackal told the lioness, “I am not less brave or smart than the lions. But they laugh at me! I want to take revenge!”

The lioness said, “My dear, you are not less than them, but you are a jackal and you act like one. We took care of you because we loved you. But now, if you want revenge, you must leave.”

The lioness roared, “Go away and do not come back, or I will have to hurt you. Go find your own family.”

The jackal ran away to find his own family and live with them.
