The Fox and the Clever Rooster
Moral of the Story: Always Remain Cautious of Cunning People.
Once upon a time, in a peaceful farmyard, there lived a clever rooster named Rocky. Rocky loved to perch on the highest branch of a big tree, where he could crow loudly and watch over the farm. One sunny day, as Rocky was sitting on his favorite branch, a sly fox named Felix happened to pass by.
Felix was feeling very hungry and was looking for something to eat. When he saw Rocky sitting on the branch, his mouth started to water. “What a fine lunch he would be,” thought Felix. But there was one problem: Felix did not know how to climb trees. He needed to find a way to make Rocky come down.
Felix looked up at Rocky and said gently, “Hello, friend! I have some great news for you.”
Rocky, curious but cautious, asked, “What is it?”
Felix, with a sly smile, replied, “I am a messenger of God. Hereafter, no animal will eat any other animal. We are all friends now. Come down, let’s celebrate this wonderful news together!”
Rocky was very smart and immediately sensed that Felix was trying to trick him. He thought for a moment and then replied, “Wow, that’s really great news! We should probably call our friends, the hounds, to join the celebration. Look, they are almost here.”
Felix gasped in fear when he heard this. He turned around and saw the hounds approaching. He knew that the hounds were his enemies and would chase him away. As he was about to run, Rocky called out, “Why are you afraid, Felix? Aren’t we all friends now?”
Felix, trembling with fear, replied, “Yes, but the hounds might not know this yet.” Saying this, Felix ran away as fast as his legs could carry him, disappearing into the forest.
Rocky chuckled to himself, proud of how he had outsmarted the cunning fox. He knew that it was important to always remain cautious and not fall for the tricks of cunning people.
And so, the story of the fox and the clever rooster teaches us to be careful and stay alert when dealing with those who might try to deceive us. It’s important to use our wits and not be easily fooled by sweet words or false promises.
